I painted them over, added a fancy bit of woodwork from the sideboard, changed the background, then changed it again. The picture transformed every time I passed it but still I didn't like it.
At one point I scrubbed it right back again with a big scrubbing brush and running water.
Then finally I removed the background altogether and added two more pears.

I like your new painting of apples – they seem a lot bolder. But I also miss the background in a way, as for me they seem like they are floating in space. Thanks for coming to my blog last month. With my husband’s sickness (Alzheimer’s) and me trying to clear our house for a move, I do not have much time to go on blogs – plus the political climate here has me depressed. We are starting a scary 4 years.
I think this version is just right!
