Quick Rhine visit

A quick visit to the Rhine River on the way to Frankfurt airport. Just time to have one good sleep, a walk along the river bank and a beer - alcohol free since I was on my way to the airport for a long haul flight.

A beer and a candle

Berlin 2009: Glass of beer and a candle
Painted in a Berlin restaurant  one evening in 2009. I remember I was tired after visiting too many art shows in one day, among them the Emil Nolde Museum. Nolde's colour palette probably influenced this painting.

I also remember the view out the large glass window of the restaurant - a grey street with hurrying figures. I would have chatted to a neighbour if I had had any, but it was early evening and there were few patrons. However, on the plus side, the beer was good and the candle was a real one, not a battery run fake.

Guess where ...

Dark wooden furniture, Erdinger beer on tap and comfort food from the 1950s. Middle Europe somewhere?

No not middle Europe but lower north shore Sydney. Photo taken yesterday at the Bazaar Beer Cafe in St Leonards to be exact (and those are sliced dumplings on the plate).

Beer in the garden

How nice to be home ...
... and (finally) recovered from jetlag.

A Beer in Graz

In a tiny place just around the corner from the tourist restaurants I sip my beer, wait for my schnitzel and sketch the neighbourhood.
