Modaks in Dunedin
Modaks has the world's best coffee: you get a good cup regardless of which staff member is making it. That is pretty special and the result of the owner's former job teaching coffee-making at the Polytech.
Modaks is also very supportive of local artists and features a revolving exhibition of local work on it walls.
Modaks Cafe is for sale in case you are interested. If it is sold, I am hoping the new owners are just as committed to good coffee (and art).

Familiar haunts
Is a lifetime spent in cafes a wasted life do you think? Cinque Cafe in King Street, Sydney - Newtown ..
and C Cafe just down the road.
I hear that another of my favorite cafes, Modaks in Dunedin is for sale. Will they continue making the best coffee on the planet I wonder, or will the world title be up for grabs?

Modaks portraits
Painting people while sipping a long coffee is a pastime I particularly enjoy. I have been painting at Modaks this past year and today I hung the portraits. They look great along their long wall and people are having fun identifying themselves and their friends.
